As part of the final concert, Ron Horner directed the Honor Band and Choir of Region I performing Between the Tundra and the Sky which was written specifically for them in 2017 with the support of Bering Land Bridge National Preserve.  This included students from the remote communities of Barrow, Bethel, Dillingham, Kotzebue, Nome and Unalakleet.
